The Shepherd Stays
Painting by James Tissot, Jesus Commands the Apostles to Rest
painted between 1886 and 1894
The Shepherd Stays.
Not by feelings do I travel
Through this oft so barren land;
It is by the Word of God I walk,
Upon His promise I will stand.
And yet, the way is sometimes dim,
The road to home so dreadfully long.
