Overcalling vulnerable at the two level (or higher) demands good suit quality. What happens if you make an unsound overcall? The opponents may make a reopening double which gets converted into penalty! Opening bidders should be in the habit of doubling back in with shortness in the opponents' overcall suit to protect responder's penalty pass.
