I’m writing today to be completely transparent and honest with you, because you deserve it.
In the process of compiling the content for this course, I’ve realized that the format of this delivery is way more challenging for me.
I realized that I’m more used to teaching live with awesome producers attending... with the interaction as part of the course.
But in the depths of me discovering my weakness, you still get to benefit from this!
What this means is...if you'd like to continue learning the rest of the course, it will now be in a live group webinar format!
You might be wondering...what are the pros and cons of this?
Pros:
- Learn live with me (and ask questions live if you have any!)
- Meet fellow musicians who are interested in the same topic (and maybe make new friends & possible collaborators perhaps?)
- Lower fee than studying privately with me (and lower fee than the original intended pre-recorded course!)
- Attend live & receive a recording
Cons:
- You hear all the "uh", "ah" and little sounds I make while I’m thinking
- The video quality might be a bit lower (but I'll figure out the best way to get as good a recording for you to refer to!)
- You might not be able to attend live (but fret bit, as you will get the recording & be able to watch it at your own convenience too)
Details about the webinar:
- Everything I planned on compiling into an online course will be explored and demonstrated in the webinar, except in a more natural and live setting where we will also have a live Q&A at the end.
- These sessions will be recorded and you will have access to this recording, alongside the slide decks and all the Serum presets/Ableton effect racks I use in both sessions.
- For everyone that cannot make the live Q&A, I will be more than happy for you to hit me up via email to ask any questions you might have about the content (or anything else) directly.
- The webinar will consist of 2x 3 hour sessions (with a 10 minute break in the middle) and will be held over 2 weeks.

- Understanding The Elements Of Form: Take control of your sound design
- Different ways to transform form
- The Power Of Contrast: Enhance and capitalize on the qualities of your designed sounds
- Creating different elements of form
- SFX Design with granular synthesis + randomized/recursive processes
- Evolving, textural Pad/Atmos/Drone Design
- Expressive Lead/Bass Synth Design
- Live Q&A
- Exercises + assignments based on concepts learned
Session 2: Building The Space
- Movements of Form: making your track more dynamic
- Composing with intention
- Evoke emotion: The different compositional tools
- Placement of Sounds: Using your mix to evoke emotion
- General Mix Duties: Cleaning up the mix and getting it ready for mastering
- Achieving tighter drums and a more cohesive groove
- Live Q&A
- Exercises + assignments based on concepts learned
When will it be?
- Session 1 will be on 12 May 2023
- Session 2 will be on 20 May 2023
- All sessions will be held via Zoom at 12.00pm CEST, 6.00pm GMT+8, , 8pm AEST
How much will it cost?
Initially I planned on launching the rest of the course on Gumroad for $197 (5+ hours of content, not including Module 1), but in light of recent changes, and to mitigate any disappointment due to this pivot in delivery, I’ve decided to deliver the same amount of content and information in this live webinar setting for a markedly reduced price.
