Morning!
It's concert week.... :)
BSO Information:
Rehearsals: This week we are back at BGI for 2 rehearsals on Wednesday and Friday evening
Wednesday 25th Feb - at BGI
Friday 27th Feb - note the earlier finishing time of 9pm (no break)
Saturday 28th Feb - Concert Day
Rehearsal starts at 2.30pm Bedford School Great Hall. Parking for big instruments only is available on site behind the main building.
Message from Jo: Tea arrangements for Wednesday BSO rehearsals: Very many thanks to Pete Halliday for manning the tea/coffee arrangements for the Wednesday BSO rehearsals and many thanks to Julia Lence too who is very kindly bringing the milk and sweet treats each week. I’ve been a bit vague about contributions for teas/coffees, but we’d like to make it £1 per tea/coffee please either cash or via SumUp. Could someone volunteer to man the SumUp machine please? It’s really easy! Please email me at [email protected] if you can help us with this. Many thanks.
Message from Bjorn: On Wednesday we will rehearse the Overture, Brahms 1, 4 then play through Sibelius with a soloist
Sinfonia Information
Message from Ian:
Rehearsals for Verdi Requiem start on 5 March at Newnham North Site as usual.
For the Monday 16 March rehearsal be forewarned - access to Biddenham International School will be difficult.
Traffic
We are going to have a few weeks of difficult traffic. Expect to take a bit longer getting to the rehearsals while the work is going on on Bromham Road.
Biddenham Turn will be closed for 6 weeks starting on March 7th. It will always be possible to get to the school, but for the first three weeks of the road closures, ie rehearsal on 16th, March you will need to come through Biddenham Village to get to the school.
These dates assume that everything goes according to plan!
Message from Ann for Publicity:
Ticket update!
We've sold 200 out of the 400 so far, which is excellent!
We can do it…
5 days left to sell them.
With less than one week to go until our eagerly awaited BSO winter concert, here are a few practical details to make your guests' experience as comfortable as possible!
1. It’s time to get their tickets!
Tickets are selling well and we’re expecting to sell out once again.
Children go FREE but need to have tickets booked (and be accompanied by an adult).
Please note that tickets are available online: bedfordsymphony.com and NOT via the Corn Exchange for this concert.
Note: there are no hidden extra admin fees! The price is exactly as advertised!
Any unsold tickets will be available on the door!
2. We are performing at Bedford School’s Great Hall (NOT St Paul’s as originally advertised) - the orchestra and audience needed a larger venue!
3. Parking is limited on the grounds of Bedford School - please allow enough time to get from the De Parys main entrance to the Great Hall (10 minutes gentle walk).
4. There is a lift to access the Great Hall. Please allow sufficient time to access it, if you’re planning to use it.
5. Our Front of House team will be ready to greet you at the door!
6. We are aiming to finish at 9.35pm.
One last push please! Thanks so much to those who help me on social media by commenting and sharing. Every time you share, hundreds more people see our event. A shout out to Bedford Music Cooperative and the Bedford Music Service who give me a huge amount of help with this!
