Dear ,
How are you doing?
Hope you’re spending these days closer to your fam during the ECQ!
, have you ever thought what Saint Joseph would do during days like these?
Exactly!
Spend time with his family - that’s what he dedicated himself to when one reflects on the hidden years of Jesus.
Joseph was far from becoming a naysayer. Honestly, that’s what most of us have become in this pandemic.
While there are many unfortunate things going on now, we have someone to look up to, that is, Joseph.
As I reflected upon Pope Francis’ letter “Patris Corde” for the Year of Saint Joseph, I cannot help but think Saint Joseph is our model during this global health emergency.
What kind of model exactly?
I think the words of Saint Josemaria, who had a great devotion to Saint Joseph, apply to the life of Jesus’ earthly father:
“Love means deeds, not sweet words!”
With the help of Theology of the Body (TOB), we realize that each and everyone of us is a GIFT - we are good, irreplaceable, free and tasked to love!
Because Saint Joseph lived up to being a GIFT of God, he received the greatest GIFT of God - God Himself! Being called to become God’s own Father!
Saint Joseph did not waste his time (or God’s time!) by becoming a senorito at home or chismoso with his friends. Just like what Shia LaBeouf said: Just do it!
So when we start and end the day, let’s always keep in mind the legacy of Saint Joseph.
St. Joseph said nothing, he was just busy loving with deeds. Sometimes no words are needed. Just silence and accompaniment.
Sana all may Joseph!
Cheers,
Francis
