Hi ,
What is love?
In the chastity and TOB (Theology of the Body) talks I attended, what stuck to me is that “love is desiring heaven for the one you love.”
What better way to love someone than to aspire for them to be with God forever? More than the highs and lows of liking someone, love is actually beyond the kilig!
Let's take a look at our parents. They sacrifice everything for us to have a good life. They are not perfect but they always choose to love and give more.
Love is never selfish and is definitely not utilitarian.
It is heartbreaking to form a relationship with someone and realize later that you were just using each other 💔 This happens in unchaste relationships, bad influence in friendships, and immature relationships.
I know I can fail in giving and receiving love, but thank God! I can start over again 😊
Each day is an invitation to love, forgive and sacrifice more.
As the song goes by Sarah Geronimo and Piolo Pascual goes “Paano ba magmahal?”
Love is actually pretty simple. It is FTFF.
It is Free. It is not forced nor something you could earn through merit. It is freely given. God loves us. Just because He loved us first.
It is Total. When you love, you give your 100%. There is no such thing as partial love and half-baked commitments.
It is Faithful. One of the most heartbreaking experiences is betrayal in love. It means appreciating the beloved and not looking for love and validation elsewhere.
Lastly, it is Fruitful. Love is fruitful because it multiplies. As the saying goes, love begets love. When you give out love, it also has a way of returning back to you.
Are you ready for the TOB kind of love?
Let's not wait for mere romance, to love each person we encounter with the same kind of love we receive from God.
Sincerely,
Anne
