Two Valuable Resources for COVID-19

Hi,

I'm preparing to head back to work tomorrow and have been spending the morning updating myself on COVID and related procedures.

This is in line with my post yesterday: you need to treat this like it is our "Olympics" and show up as prepared as possible.

I want to share these two resources with my newsletter subscribers because I found them most valuable to informing my practice.

1. Clinical management of severe acute respiratory infection when novel coronavirus (nCoV) infection is suspected

This document by the WHO will provide you with best practices regarding clinical management of possible and confirmed cases. Much of this can be used in ambulance, but it is also helpful to be informed about what hospital care will entail.

2. Donning and doffing PPE for novel pathogens

Just like John Wooden, the greatest basketball coach of all time, drilled mastery on how to out on your socks, we need to be masters of putting on ... And taking off!!... PPE.

Pay particular attention to how to seal test your N95 and doffing procedures.

Yours in pursuit of Medic Mastery,

Brendan
