OFFER THAT GUY
Talk about instincts. 2022 CFC150 DE Thomas Pilon has got those and a whole lot more. At 6'3" 260lbs, Pilon takes QB smash to a whole other level. His initial quickness is outstanding along with the acceleration he gets as he hunts you down. Dude, you do not want to be on the receiving end of the blow he delivers. His athletic ability shines when you role the tape. Kids out of Quebec are always a solid prospects and this Sainte-Catherine native is no exception. Buckle up and get this kid an offer!
Our take:
- Explosive out his stance
- One of the few young ends who can rush with power and speed and transition in between the two
- May eventually grow into a 3-tech
- Has a solid motor

TOP PROSPECTS of the week
Class 2021 CFC200 LB Nicolas Kalume (Saint Andre Bessette - London, ON)
"My favourite tradition that I'm looking forward to is our United Way home game that our school hosts. The whole school gets to come and support the team as we play and look to get a win while hearing all your friends supporting you."
Class 2022 REC Adbeel Bhatti (Dakota - Winnipeg, MB)
"Determined. A lot of our starters last year were seniors, especially on the defensive side of the ball. This year we are gonna have to step up and fill the holes."
Class 2021 LB Zach Zary (Evan Hardy - Saskatoon, SK)
"I believe our team is primed for a breakout year. We have a lot of key returning players and a lot of young talented guys ready to step up. After getting eliminated in round 1 of the playoffs are goal as a team is to win city's and compete for a provincial banner."

SOUTH OF THE BORDER HEADLINES
- This past week south of the border in college football, some notable performances were put on by players with ties north of the border. Canadian Jared Wayne was Pittsburgh’s leading receiver, while Oklahoma State’s Chuba Hubbard and Amen Ogbongbemiga made their season debut in a win over Tulsa. Tyrell Richards was also back in the lineup for Syracuse while Daniel Joseph had 5 tackles and 2 sacks for NC State in a nail-biter against Wake Forest.
- In NFL football news, Chase Claypool, who’s been dubbed “Mapletron”, has made his mark in his first two weeks. Week 1 against the Giants, he had 2 receptions for 39 yards, including arguably the nicest catch across the league, along with 1 rushing attempt for 8 yards. Week 2, he got his first career TD with an 84 yard connection in a 3 catch, 88 yard performance.
- There were no NCAA offers to Canadians over the past week, so we’ll jump back to last week when CFC100 LB Edwin Wilson Tara Kolenge picked up his 12th offer from Georgia Tech. In addition to being #2 ranked on our CFC100, he’s ranked as a 4 star recruit and the 4th ILB in the US in the class of 2022 by ESPN.
RECRUITING TIP
Most popular questions from recruits this week?
The recruiting process has begun. You have identified the schools you wish to attend and are in contact with the coaches/recruiters. You have had some conversations and you believe that it's time to go to the next level. You want to bring up the subject of scholarships...but should you? It's not a good idea to ask about scholarships early on in the recruiting process. This would include the first few emails, texts, DMs, etc. NEVER put this in an introductory email!
BOTTOM LINE:
So when is the best time to bring up the scholarship offer? During an unofficial or official visit is a great time to discuss this. This conversation is face-to-face, organized and planned. What happens during this conversation depends on how the previous steps of developing a relationship have gone.

Have you been grinding your way through the lockdown? Pining for the smell of pigskin flying in the morning?
Now's your chance to prove you belong with the elite prospects in Canada. Register for your chance to participate in socially distanced combine drills including the 40 yard dash, t-test, broad jump and vertical. Best part, not only will the CFC Scouting Bureau consider your combine numbers for our CFC100 High School Prospect Rankings, but we're also going to send the results to our friends at Tracking Football.
Who is Tracking Football? We're glad you asked. Our friends from the United States have become integral partners sharing our combine information with their NCAA clients, and we've already had success stories from the CFC Prospect Game last year.
On top of Tracking Football exposure, you'll also receive some direct feedback from U Sports coaches in attendance, and they're just as hungry for information as their counterparts down south.
