OFFER THAT GUY
Our take: CFC100 Class of 2022 linebacker, Jude Buchanan, was named to Team Burris of the CFC Prospect Game 2020. Unfortunately, all 6'2" and 235 pounds of him would not get showcased this past year due to COVID, but that doesn't stop us from saying bring on the offers!
This kid is aggressive, can key and diagnose plays, and is very quick. He has great burst and acceleration and says hello to the QB on a regular basis. In 2019 in 8 games played he had 62 solos, 33 assists, 21 TFLs, 4 sacks, 2 FF, and 2 TDs. Buchanan is definitely in his bag.

TOP PROSPECTS of the week
Today Katie Uttley catches up with Windsor, ON native CFC100 QB Matt Guenette, who's hoping to carry on the local tradition of excellence under centre.
Kato and Matt discuss how got an early start on the field after receiving a flyer about the local team in grade two, how he likes to lead by example rather than barking at his teammates when something goes wrong, and how he's adjusted his mindset to focus on getting bigger, stronger and more mechanically sound during the pandemic.

SOUTH OF THE BORDER HEADLINES
- The Super Wild Card Weekend just capped off and unfortunately it didn’t have the best outcomes for the Canucks. CFC100 WR Chase Claypool and the Steelers lost 48-37 to the Browns thanks to a beatdown of a first quarter in which the Browns out scored the Steelers 28-0. Chase Claypool had 5 catches for 59 yards and 2 TD in the game during which Big Ben attempted 68 passes. Brent Urban and the Bears lost to fellow Canadian David Onyemata’s Saints on Sunday too, leaving David Onyemata as the only Canadian starter left in the playoffs, as the Rams’ Taylor Rapp is on IR.
- CFC100 WR John Metchie and the Alabama Crimson Tide won the CFP National Championship with a 52-24 win over the Ohio State Buckeyes. Metchie had 8 catches for 81 yards, a nice compliment to Devonta Smith’s 215 yards receiving (Smith had all this in one half before he got hurt), helping QB Mac Jones go 36/45 for 464 yards passing.
- 2022 CFC100 TE Mohamed Hazime earned his first offer this week from Eastern Michigan. The 6’5”, 240lbs tight end is the brother of 2019 CFC100 OL Mahdi Hazime, who held a preferred walk-on spot at the University of Michigan during the 2019 season. Look for the younger Hazime to bring in more offers.
RECRUITING TIP
Most popular questions from recruits this week?
It takes a very long time, usually into adulthood for players to become proficient at studying film or playbooks. The language of football can be intimidating at first, but it's important to treat it just like any other subject in school.
BOTTOM LINE:
You're only getting to get better with repetition, and you'll only pass your peers by spending time studying on your own.
