Happy New Year, everyone!

I hope everyone had a blessed and restful Christmas and New Year. Ours was a busy house filled with joy, celebrating the birth of our Savior. And now we're even enjoying some snow (many in our house celebrate the pretty, white, fluff... but not all lol). As I prepare for the release of my second novel in February, I've received some early endorsements that I'm excited to share with you. I've also got a free read to share, my favorite books of 2024 and of course the giveaway winner of "Love Overboard" along with a new giveaway.

I am so thrilled that a number of authors whose writing I adore have chosen to endorse "Right Before Their Eyes." I cannot say enough good things about Janine Rosche, Heidi Chiavaroli, Amanda Cox, Rhonda Ortiz and A.D. Lawrence. Literally, pick any of their books and you won't be disappointed. Here's what they had to say about Right Before Their Eyes:

“Carrie Walker's stories provide the perfect windfall of emotion: achingly dear romance, heart wrenching angst, and the kind of joy one feels spying a rainbow after a storm. Each character holds a unique non-contrived purpose with enough depth to fill their own chapters with harrowing backstory. Each scene is painted with such delicacy that they don't spring off the page as much as they welcome the reader deeper into the story to experience it for themselves. All together, Walker brings a strong voice to the publishing world filled with compassion, enduring hope, and approachable faith.” ~ Janine Rosche- Author of Madison River Romance series, With Every Memory and The Road Before Us

"Fans of Emma’s Hero will be delighted with the chance to revisit their favorite characters in Right Before Their Eyes. As each person faces impossible choices, this story serves as a wonderful reminder that with God, all things are possible. —Amanda Cox, award-winning author of He Should Have Told the Bees and Between the Sound and Sea

After reading Emma’s Hero, I wondered about Mason and Clare’s story happily, here it is! Right Before Their Eyes is both a heartwarming friends-to-lovers romance and a testament to the power of God at work in the difficult circumstances of ordinary life. For readers of inspirational fiction, Carrie Walker is an author to watch. —Rhonda Ortiz, award-winning author of the Molly Chase series

"I so enjoyed this book! Right Before Their Eyes is just my kind of Women’s Fiction with the perfect blend of romance, authentic life issues, and compelling characters I always hunger for in my next read. I was flipping the pages to see what would happen to Clare, Mason, and Lucia, and I absolutely loved how Carrie wove their stories together for a beautiful, satisfying ending. Readers will gobble this one up—bravo!" ~ Heidi Chiavaroli, Carol award-winning author of The Orchard House and Hope Beyond the Waves

"Right Before Their Eyes” hits all the right emotional notes. Memorable characters, a heart-twisting plot, and relatable tension made this story sing. I can’t wait to read more by Carrie Walker.” A.D. Lawrence, author of A Purple Nightgown.

My favorite reads of 2024

I read so many amazing books this year that it wasn't easy to narrow it down to a Top Ten, but these books were so so good. In the rom-com world "The Happy Life of Isadora Bentley", "Faking Christmas" and "The Bodyguard" had me literally laughing out loud and unable to put the book down (note if language is a sensitive thing for you, The Bodyguard does have some). In books that tow the line between romance and women's fiction (a personal favorite genre for me) "The Way Back," "A Million Little Choices," "Rhythm of Fractured Grace," and "The Road Before Us" left me with all the feelings, and thinking of the book after I shut the pages. And for Unique reads that were just wow "Between You and Us" and "Infinity + One" are the winners (note again, if language is a sensitive thing, Infinity + One does have some). I'd love to hear some of your favorite reads from last year as I start to pick my books for the coming year!
