Hi !
August has arrived (and has nearly come to a close), and with it an invitation to pause and notice something we often take for granted: the constant conversation between our gut and our brain.
We tend to think of our mind and body as separate, but they are anything but. Your digestive system is communicating with your brain all day long through the vagus nerve, immune system, hormones, microbial metabolites and countless other signals. And, of course, the conversation goes both ways. What happens in your mind can influence your digestion, while what happens in your gut can influence how you feel, think and respond to the world around you.
This month, we're exploring the Gut-Brain Axis and some simple ways to nurture this relationship through nourishing food, moments of calm, movement, laughter and mindful pauses.
And perhaps August is the perfect month for this. Summer gives us a little more permission to slow down, enjoy ourselves and remember that wellbeing isn't only about being productive or "doing everything right". Sometimes, taking care of yourself looks like sitting down, enjoying a delicious meal, laughing until your stomach hurts, or simply deciding that you don't need to rush.
