Dear School Administrators, District Staff, and Learning Support Teams, and Educators (Teachers and Educational Assistants)
We are pleased to invite your Education Assistants, Learning Support Teachers, and Instructional Support Staff to the 6th Annual Education Assistants of BC Society (EABCS) Conference.
This year's conference focuses on "Building Safety Through Connection: Foundations of FASD - Relationship, Regulation, and the Brain-Body Connection to Learning."
Event Overview
Date: Friday, October 23, 2026
Time: 8:45 AM - 2:00 PM
Location: Abbotsford Arts Centre (Abbotsford, BC) OR Live Streamed BC-wide
Presenter: Trina Chivilo (M.Ed.), veteran BC educator and POPFASD outreach specialist
Why Attend?
Understanding Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) and nervous-system-aligned communication is essential for foster-based, relational, and trauma-informed support in today's classrooms. Trina Chivilo brings 14 years of teaching experience across challenging pre-K to 12 environments, 6 years in provincial outreach, and extensive community partnership experience. Participants will gain practical, evidence-informed strategies to help students co-regulate, surface essential strengths, and enhance learning through connection.
