Stop DOING IT to Yourself!

Change is easier than you think.

Dear Wonderful Woman,

I hope you're well.

Firstly a warm welcome to our new joiners.

I've recently closed down a mail-list and have added those Ladies to this space.

And so to STOP Doing WHAT? These things:

❌ Playing Small

❌ Not putting yourself forward

❌ Not putting yourself first - Mental Health, Personal Boundaries, Professional Boundaries

❌ Believing the stories that don't serve you

❌ Believing Failure is permanent

❌ Waiting for some-else to give you your current career aspiration

It's no surprise when I tell you that self-sabatage is like the No.1 thing that prevents you from attaining your biggest career dream, whatever that maybe.

It's easy to stay the same, comfortable and not change your thinking. I mean why would you? The brain is wired to conserve energy and to help you survive.

And so change is hard. I get it!

Yesterday I was close to the verge of an adult tantrum and giving up! Why? I was asked to think differently and my brain was like - "I've got nothing!" and I wasn't enjoying the experience of hanging in there or finding inspiration to give me new ideas.

So what did I do?

I asked for help.

I time-boxed the thinking.

I gave myself grace.

And I dared to share the new idea that emerged, even though I wasn't confidence that it was a good idea.

I didn't just bin it because, it didn't feel great, or because it was birthed through pain!

I got feedback. And that feedback turned what I had "birthed in pain" into something that was beyond my original thinking.

Hit reply and let me know an idea which you 'birthed in pain", but found to be a great one?

Have a great day ahead.

Warm Regards,

Ekua 💛
