It's time for us to grow!

For the last 50 years, the Franklin Township Historical Society has been an important part of our township, preserving local history in the form of artifacts, memorabilia, genealogical records, and more. But conserving and storing these items takes space, and we are out of room in our Meeting House, an 1871 one-room structure that also lacks basic amenities such as water or toilet facilities.

We have been given a limited-window opportunity to purchase the property adjacent to the Meeting House, which includes an historic 1930s house and an outbuilding. We also have plans drawn up for an additional building that would allow us to host public functions and offer educational programming onsite. But there's a time constraint: Our deadline for purchasing the property is Saturday, June 21, so we have just a few weeks to raise the remaining funds!

We've set a fundraising goal of $300,000 to take the initial steps toward expanding to these new facilities. Thanks to a matching grant from a generous local organization, all donations through June 21 will be matched up to $100,000. The Society is grateful for ALL contributions, regardless of size! We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, so all gifts are tax deductible.
