Foundation garments. (Yes, bras, underwear, and shapewear.)
You can wear the most expensive outfit in the world, but if your undergarments are wrong, the outfit will look terrible.
Why this matters:
The right undergarments:
- Make clothes fit smoothly (no bulges, no lines showing through)
- Create a clean silhouette
- Stop you from adjusting yourself all day
- Make you look slimmer
The Essentials You Need:
1. Well-Fitted Bras
- Get professionally fitted (most women wear the wrong size!)
- Replace every 6-12 months (they stretch out and lose support)
- Have nude, black, and white at a minimum
- No bra straps showing under work clothes
2. Seamless Underwear
- No panty lines showing under fitted clothes
- Nude/skin-tone color is the most versatile
- High-waisted styles for dresses and high-waisted pants
3. Shapewear (Optional)
- Smooths your silhouette under fitted clothing
- Not to change your body, just to smooth out lumps and bumps
- Great for fitted dresses, pencil skirts, and formal events
4. Slips/Camisoles
- Stops sheer blouses from being see-through
- Adds a layer under light-colored clothes
