That expensive dress looks cheap on you

Hi ,
A N15,000 dress that fits you perfectly will always look better than a N150,000 dress that doesn't.
This is not an opinion. It is just how clothes work.
Fit is what makes something look expensive, intentional, and flattering. The fabric drapes differently. The proportions read differently. The whole outfit communicates something different.
Most women skip tailoring because it feels like an extra step. Because they don't know what's worth altering. Because they assume that if something doesn't fit off the rack, it's the wrong piece.
None of that is true.
Off-the-rack clothes are made for a standardized body that doesn't exist. They're sized by volume, not by proportion. A size 14 accounts for a certain hip measurement; it does not account for your specific waist-to-hip ratio, your torso length, or your shoulder width.
Three alterations that change everything:
- Taking in the waist on a dress or blazer
- Shortening a hem by two to three inches
- Bringing in the shoulders on a structured jacket
These are not expensive. They are not complicated. They are just the step most people skip.
Reply "TAILOR" and I'll tell you how to find and brief a good one.
To your best image.
