A big thank you, a simple guide, and a chance to slow down



Dear Friends,


Thank you to everyone who came to the sober rave with Timanti on Saturday. Wow! This was simply epic. The energy was absolutely incredible, and we are still buzzing.


Watching a room full of people dance, laugh and connect without alcohol is exactly why we do this, and you made it happen. If you missed it, this will give you a little taste of the party.


Many of you have been asking us what's the difference between a sober rave and ecstatic dance, so we thought it would be great to explain it.


Here's a simple guide:


The format.

A sober rave takes the club experience and removes the alcohol and drugs. The vibe is similar to nightlife, with a social atmosphere.

Ecstatic dance is a movement practice, a moving meditation, and an inward journey, with a guidance of the facilitator.


The music.

At a sober rave a DJ plays house, techno, disco or similar, with high-intensity energy.

In ecstatic dance the music follows a deliberate arc, starting slow, building to a peak and then winding down, drawing on world, tribal, downtempo and electronic sounds.
