Dearest Beloved Friends and Family,
It truly feels like several lifetimes have passed since we gathered to celebrate our wedding. So much has unfolded… and now, as many of you know, we are preparing to welcome new life into the world this March.
This season has been full of beauty and growth. We’ve launched Lokah Retreat from our home, and Heather has been immersed in prenatal work every single day — not only nurturing our baby, but also supporting other pregnant members of our community. It’s been powerful to witness.
Now, as we approach week 36, the nesting energy is real. We’ve been gathering everything needed to create a safe, warm, and intentional home birth space — baby tables, crib, diapers, clothes, a king-size bed, and all the little details that help welcome a soul gently into the world. Our dream of birthing at home is coming beautifully into focus.
The final pieces we are raising funds for include our incredible doula, Leif, Heather’s final prenatal self-care treatments, and a few remaining essential birth items to fully prepare our home space. Leif brings deep experience, grounded wisdom, and a presence that aligns so fully with our values. She has been coaching and counselling us, will be bringing her birth tub, and will even be documenting the journey. Having her by our side feels like such a gift — and such an important part of creating the birth we envision.
We recently had the sweetest baby shower, and thanks to those who were able to come, we raised over $600 — already part way there! We are so grateful.
