Sometimes I do really dumb things πŸ˜‘

Greetings ,

At the weekend I made a good decision ... and a bad one.

First the good one.

Due to the nicer weather, I spent last week in a lighter jacket. From inside my flat, Saturday looked nice, so I put on my light jacket and stepped outside. However, the wind felt really cold through my jacket. So cold I didn't think walking would make me feel much warmer.

I went back upstairs and put my warm winter coat on instead.

Down by the Main, it was very windy. The wind made waves on the water 🌊. Quite big waves, considering it's a river, not the sea!

It was so unpleasant I thought I might do a shorter walk. Looking to the north, the sky was absolutely black. However, the sky above me was a lot lighter - still cloudy, but nowhere near as dark.

I don't like cutting my walk short, so I decided I'd turn back if it started to rain.

The rain started at about my normal turning point. It was quite light and I had my umbrella, so there wasn't a problem, was there?

Then the rain changed to hail. Little balls of ice started bouncing on the ground in front of me. I was really thankful I was wearing my warm coat!

Then suddenly there was a flash of lightning ⚑ which was followed by a really loud clap of thunder.

Great 😐. I was walking in a thunderstorm. And that's dangerous, isn't it?

What should I do? Keep walking? Standing under a tree wasn't a good idea (plus, with no leaves, it wouldn't have helped!).

A footbridge over the river wasn't far away. But I decided not to stand under it because it's made of metal.

The next bridge was made of stone, so I thought I'd shelter there.

But I didn't need to. By the time I got there, the storm had passed. I didn't need my umbrella anymore! And there wasn't any wind, either. Looking behind me, there was even some blue sky β›….

Have you made plans and then changed them because of the weather? Did you change your plans or did the weather interrupt what you were doing? Let me know...

'Bye,

Andrea
