Do this to rebuild self-trust and self-confidence

Do this to rebuild self-trust and self-confidence

Good afternoon, ,

I called a friend the other day, and he texted me, "Can I call you later?"

He was in a meeting, but he'd be free in 45 minutes.

"Sure," I responded. He said he'd call when he got out.

He didn't.

Same friend told me he was open to having lunch. We were going to connect the day of.

He didn't respond.

How long would you keep trying to maintain a friendship with someone like this?

The problem is that we treat ourselves like this (or worse!) ALL THE TIME!

We tell ourselves, or someone else, that we'll do something.

Then we don't. It's not convenient. We don't feel like it. We got busy. Things happened.

I get it. But we pick up on those patterns, and it doesn't take long for us to realize that we can't trust or respect someone who treats us like that.

Even when we're doing it to ourselves.

To rebuild self-trust? Start doing what you say you'll do.

That's it.

It will change everything.

Let's do this!

Ken

P.S. If you aren't sure you'll do something, don't promise someone (even yourself!) that you will. Tell yourself the truth. All the time.
