Good morning, ,
This week on the Unstuck Career podcast, I sat down with cartoonist Scott Kurtz for a conversation about career changes, caregiving, and what it really means to build a fulfilling life.
In This Episode:
- Scott shares how he built a thriving webcomics business—and how life forced an unexpected pivot when he became his father’s caregiver and the pandemic hit.
- We dig into the emotional impact of stepping back from a dream, facing business closure, and the challenge (and possibility!) of starting over at 50.
- Scott opens up about imposter syndrome, creative guilt, and the uphill battle of redefining success when the world says your passions are “frivolous.”
Now, he’s found new purpose writing children’s graphic novels—proof that it’s never too late for a fresh start.
Takeaway:
Scott’s journey is an inspiring reminder: following joy may not always be easy, but it’s always worthwhile.
You've got this!
Ken
