Content of the course:
By the end of this course you will have
- Understood the prevalence of affairs, and different types of affair
- Explored some of the reasons why they happen
- Thought about common reactions to an affair
- Considered the ‘therapist’s job’ when working with this topic
- Looked at distorted and defeatist beliefs
- Explored what is required in saying sorry and forgiveness
- Explored how the process of differentiation affects affairs, integrity and blame

About the trainer: Nicola Jones
Nicola Jones has worked with couples since 2006. She is Relate registered, accredited by the National Counselling Society and a member and Vice Chair of the International Attachment Network.
She has a private practice in Portishead and Bristol where she works with individuals, couples and families.
Nicola has an MA in Gender Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London (2008), has trained in family systems therapy with the Institute of Family Therapy, trained at The Bowlby Centre for 2 years. Nicola has considerable experience of, and her clinical work is significantly informed by attachment theory with its links with neuroscience, infant development and developmental psychology.
