TEENS:
Understanding teenagers and how to support them through adolescence
Monday 16 and Tuesday 17 May 2022

The aim of this workshop is to understand how today’s teenagers experience their world, how to talk to them in a way that allows them to open up, and how to give them the tools they need to safely cross the bridge from childhood to adulthood.
The topics we will cover include:
- The changes that occur during adolescence
- Handling emotions – yours and theirs
- How to encourage responsible independence
- Communicating without conflict
- Dealing with the big issues – sex, drugs and alcohol
- This course is about boys and girls from puberty to 17ish

BOYS:
Understanding where boys are coming from, how to talk to them and how to motivate them

This workshop explores the characteristics of boys, their particular needs and challenges, and what adults can do (and not do) to enable them to flourish. We will cover:
- What makes boys tick?
- Working with boys’ energy
- Boundaries and cooperation
- Expressing emotions
- Understanding male pride
- Laying foundations for manhood
- This course is about boys aged 2 – 17 years.

LUCINDA NEALL will be running both workshops and has been training and coaching people in communication and motivation for over 30 years, and has worked in a voluntary capacity with teenagers since she was one herself! She ran a youth club for many years and is a watch leader for Ocean Youth Trust South.
Her work in the education sector, her passion for effective communication, and the birth of her son, prompted her to analyse what makes boys tick and how to motivate them.


She is the author of How to Talk to Teenagers and A Life Guide for Teenagers.
