In my mid-40s, anxiety turned up again.


I'm no stranger to it. It's been there at various points in my life, and over the years I've learned to recognise it, manage it and not let it run the show. It hasn't always been an easy journey, but it's one I'm immensely proud of.


This time felt different, though. There was some stressful stuff going on around me, but the anxiety seemed to come out of nowhere, along with some intrusive thoughts and some really quite unpleasant feelings.


The techniques I'd learned over the years - the same ones I share with clients - were still working. But I was curious about what this was, and why it had come back now.
