At the end of today's message I issued a challenge for our church body to memorize 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NLT) by Sunday, June 25th.
Here is our passage:
All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.
Below are several tips for memorizing this passage. Choose the method(s) that best suit your learning style.
- Break it into smaller sections: Divide the passage into smaller chunks, such as phrases or clauses. Focus on memorizing one section at a time before moving on to the next.
- Repeat and recite aloud: Read the passage out loud multiple times. Repetition and hearing your own voice can reinforce the words in your memory.
- Write it: Write out the passage by hand. The physical act of writing can aid in memory retention.
- Sing it: Create a melody or put the words to an existing melody to learn the words.
