Hello !
We are reaching out to ask for your support for Congressman Derek Tran, who is also a member of our pharmacy committee, and to invite you to attend (or donate to) an upcoming fundraising event in his support. Congressman Tran owns a community pharmacy in Orange County with his wife, Michelle, a pharmacist who grew up in Garden Grove. Together, they have seen firsthand the challenges that pharmacists face in providing care to patients in their community.
In Congress, Derek has focused on solutions to lower drug prices and hold PBMs accountable. His leadership helped pass key provisions of the PBM Reform Act in a recent government funding package, which will:
- Remove financial incentives that lead to price gouging
- Authorize independent auditing and enforcement of PBM drug pricing practices
- Increase competition and transparency through mandatory PBM reporting requirements
You can read more about his recent work here:
We are asking for your financial support for an event our organizations (OCPhA, IPA, VPhA-USA, SGVPhA) are hosting to raise funds for his upcoming campaign. Attendance is encouraged but not required to donate. If you are unable to attend, we still welcome and appreciate your support through a contribution.
Date: March 10, 2026
Time: 6:30 – 8:00 PM
Location: Huntington Beach
(specific location to be provided when RSVP)
Please note that all donations must be made by individuals (not through businesses or organizations).
Thank you for considering supporting a leader who understands pharmacy not in theory but in practice. Your support helps ensure that the voice of pharmacists continues to be represented in Congress.
If you have any questions, please reach out to our legislative committee chair, Ryan Kwok, at [email protected].
