Hi ,
Over the past year, I’ve been lucky to have Megan Ashley managing my book marketing. She’s been incredible—efficient, insightful, and such a help in keeping things running smoothly. Unfortunately, with the Canadian dollar not holding strong against the U.S. dollar, I’ve had to return to doing my own marketing. If you're in the States and need media support, I highly recommend reaching out to her.
So now I’m diving back into the world of self-promotion— relearning platforms, scheduling content, and trying to stay consistent. It’s overwhelming, especially with a packed daily schedule. After a long day, it’s tempting to collapse on the couch and mindlessly scroll instead of doing “more work.” But I know that if I want my books to reach you, I need to recommit and refocus.
Finding that balance is the hard part. I’ve seen people make huge sacrifices—working multiple jobs, going to school full-time—just to move forward. Their determination inspires me, but I also know burnout is real. You need space to breathe, too.
For me, time with my partner is sacred. Our days off rarely line up, so when they do, we make them count. I’ve lost close family, and I never want to look back wishing I’d spent more time with the people I love.
So, it’s about balance. Sometimes you have to push hard to grow. Other times, you need to pause and appreciate what you already have. My goal now is to better plan my weeks, stay focused on my goals, and—most importantly—cherish the life I’m living while building the one I dream of.
In the quest to move forward, I've also just released my next book, called "Love From the Mist." It's a short romantic fantasy. I hope you'll check it out:
Blurb:
Jace Warden would rather face a hurricane than endure his brother’s engagement party. So, he books a flight to anywhere-but-there—only for the plane to crash, stranding him on an island shrouded in mist and mystery. But solitude isn’t what fate has in store. The island is alive with secrets… and so is the enchantress who haunts it.
Beautiful, wild, and bound by magic, she’s a mischievous entity who delights in games—and Jace is her newest plaything. Yet as sparks ignite between them, he realizes her laughter hides centuries of loneliness, and his heart may be the only thing that can set them both free.
But surviving her world means trusting a woman who may be more myth than mortal.
In a realm where nothing is as it seems, will love be Jace’s salvation—or his doom?
xo,
Patricia Elliott
