What did you do to recharge yourself this year?

Hi ,

Can you believe another month has gone by and with that almost another year? I still can’t believe it’s December next month. It still feels like it’s the beginning of the year, so I want to hear about your accomplishments and maybe even where you went on vacation this year. I’m always game for hearing about new places to visit in the future.

This year, my family went to the East Coast for the first time, Disney World more specifically. It was our first big vacation since 2015 due to health issues and other problems that arose. And I must say I had a great time. We’d been to Disneyland before, but never Disney World, so it was awesome to be able to go with my significant other and two of my kids.

My biggest surprise was how Disney World seemed more geared toward adults as opposed to Disneyland that was more based around kids. If you don’t know what I mean, you need to stop in the Country Bear Jamboree and the Frozen Sing Along. My gosh, it had me laughing so hard. We weren’t really allowed to film, but if you get a chance to go, I highly recommend the two.

We were thinking of skipping them, but I’m glad we didn’t. The humor likely went over any of the kid’s heads, but I’d love to have met the writers of the two shows.

Also, if you haven’t been to Disney’s Epcot already, you definitely need to go during the food and wine festival. You get the opportunity to try foods from around the world and some of the food is absolutely delicious, like the Roasted Porchetta at the Char & Chop kiosk. That had to be my favorite dish of the whole trip.

Then we tried some bizarre oddities, where we weren’t 100 percent sure whether they worked or not, like peanut butter and jelly wings, and a Pickle Milkshake from the Brew-Wing Lab.

What we would do since there was a lot of food to try, we would get like one or two appetisers and then split them between either the two of us or the four of us. That way we could try more than if we got something for each of us.

But the best part of the trip was being able to spend time together without having to go to work. Work has a habit of eating all our time, so having two weeks to ourselves as a family was a great way to recharge the brain cells and the body.

Now, I’m back to work and back to writing, excited to see where our adventures take us next year. Sometimes even recharging at home is the perfect break.

So what did you do to recharge yourself this year? I’d love to hear from you.

Kisses, Lies, & Us by Willa Drew

A secret identity, movies, soulmates, friends-to-lovers, and a right person wrong time romance...

A wannabe film student walks into a bar with a fake ID and orders a drink…yes, sometimes my life does feel like a joke.

Take tonight. Abandoned by my dad at a swanky resort on Christmas Eve, I search for a little holiday cheer of my own. Trying an Old Fashioned at the hotel bar might be what I need to reset my lonely night in LA.

Cue Sarah, a beautiful bartender who tells it like it is. She’s a struggling screenwriter, and I’m about to typecast myself as the hero in her story.

Only this once I decide to actually be myself—except for that whole fake ID part. She must like me for me because next thing I know, she invites me to a party.

We laugh. We talk. We kiss.

Sarah might be the only person who sees the real me… but that doesn’t mean she knows the whole truth about who she’s falling for.

If you like secret identity, movies, soulmates, friends-to-lovers, and a right person wrong time new adult romance, Kisses, Lies, & Us, Book One in the Falling for the Liar Series is for you. Each of the five stories in the series revolves around a major holiday throughout one year in the lives of Sarah and Nick and offers a rollercoaster of emotions and adventures.
