Greetings! Welcome to my latest newsletter, we're so glad you could join us...
Get nice and cozy for this read...
Finally, cool(er) weather! We're finally seeing summer in the rear view mirror where it rightfully belongs, and to that I say "good riddance" as we approach the superior season that is Fall. I find as I grow out my hair longer, the more I loathe the warm weather, as if I needed more reason to detest Summer. But hey, speaking of Fall...
We had a bit of a situation. Another (yes, another!) rogue branch fell down into our yard. Thankfully, this monstrous branch somehow missed not only our house, but also the power lines directly beneath it... we still have no idea what caused it to fall off. This was days before the severe storm that blew through earlier in the month, mind you; it was a completely clear day.
But in some good news, I finally got this beast of a print framed, featuring the entire cast of Marvel Vs. Capcom 2. It was a gift, part of a trade, from the legendary Yung Khan, a Cleveland artist I was honored to meet last year at a local table. This is one of the biggest prints I've ever owned, at 18" x 24", I'm glad I was even able to find wall-space to fit this monster.
One last quick update, for the time being my online shop is closed for some major maintenance work. I'd tell you to sub to my newsletter so you don't miss updates as to when it may start up again, but... here you are!
~ ๐TABLE SCHEDULE๐ ~
On the weekend of September 11, we ran our first larger Artist Alley table in a while, the Cleveland Gaming Classic at the Huntington Convention Center. Here's what my setup looked like; I think I'm generally pretty satisfied with the state of my table now.
Overall, it was a fairly good weekend! We made back our table, met several wonderful new people, made some promising connections, and got to talk to tons of our pals that stopped by. It was also my most productive AA table, as I finished the sketches for two pages for my graphic novel, one on each day! Be sure to check them out in my "FORSAKEN" segment below.
Here is the rest of our table schedule for the rest of 2026, as well as into 2027.
~ ๐FORSAKEN๐ฆโโฌ ~
We're still on that mad grind to finish this story, even a rampant con schedule won't stop me. Managed to finish both of these pages at my last table! We finally get our first look at FORSAKEN's main protagonist, the tyrannical King Amqueela.
Page 1 starts with the sight of a large bird descending from above into a forest of darkness, its entire form obscured by shadow. Oddly, the bird's massive wings bear a slight resemblance to hands, with four large feathers acting as fingers. The monstrous bird lands, the ground giving beneath his great weight. Upon landing, we are witness to a grave site: a cavern, wherein the corpses of Men, savagely torn to shreds, are cluttered before its wide entrance. The bodies appear to have lost limbs, some strewn about the battlefield, while others are strangely missing, seeming to have been gnawed off... A bloody battle was waged, though from the look of things, it looks less a battle and more a one-sided massacre. From the bowels of the cave, a dim light can be made...
Page 2 introduces us to the main character of this horrible tale, the King of the Higher, Amqueela. He appears as an eagle, but bears some physical traits that would cause anyone to behold him more as a monster. Obviously, he is huge, an absolute towering force: as is customary for Higher royalty, the largest Higher becomes King upon the death of the current ruler. His feathers are a light silver, with his more prominent feathers, such as his tail and wingtips, a darker grey. An intriguing symbol, black as ink, is brandished upon the Higher King's chest. Amqueela's fearsome beak ends in a horned tip, resembling that of a rhinoceros, and a crest resembling a mohawk consisting of three distinguished points protrudes from his head, upon which rests the Higher King's crown. Dangling jewelry is adorned on both sides. He leers down upon the dreadful scene, his golden and scarlet eyes glaring from beneath the shade of his crown like a serpent in the dark.
"Hmph, the nerve of him, sending me to do more shopping. This had better be worth the time."
I'll work to get these uploaded to my site soon, likely when more pages are complete. Chapter 1 is a big one, so please look forward to more updates to come.
~ ๐จSEPTEMBER ART๐จ ~
The Black God
I really need to watch Fantasia again sometime... at least I managed to finish one drawing by the end of the month. I really like how I drew the mountain, especially the trails of magma; I think they're a neat touch. The bottom half of the work is nice and bright, contrasting well against the overwhelmingly dark top half, which helps emphasize Chernabog's gruesome face. And if you look close, you can see haunting faces in the ghostly wisps...

Got commissioned to draw Magik from the new fighting game Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, and my payment for it was... the new fighting game Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls. I've been having a blast with it! Have only been playing around in training but it feels great, I hope to enter some locals soon with more practice. I also hope to create more art of the Marvel Tokon cast soon enough: Carnage, Blade and Wolverine in particular have caught my curious eye...
Not much art this month! Been handling con prep like crazy, it's essentially consumed every moment of free-time I have, not to mention finishing two pages for my graphic novel in a week...
~ ๐ฎPRIMO RECOMMENDS!๐ฝ๏ธ ~
One of mine and my wife's most watched Youtube channels is called "Tasting History with Max Miller". As a fan of both learning history and learning new recipes, his work is a perfect match for me. Here's one of my favorite episodes he's produced, featuring a segment on one of the historical figures that have intrigued me most, the inspiration behind Dracula himself, Vlad the Impaler.
Earlier this month I scoured through one of my many cookbooks and found this recipe for Smoked Pork Chops with Maple Glaze, which I cooked along with some fried potatoes and had some of my wife's homemade bread. I encourage you to make this, the glaze on its own is so worth the effort, it is absolutely splendid!
To make (roughly 20 min):
4 smoked pork chops, cut 3/4" thick
1 tablespoon cooking oil
1/4 cup apple juice (or water)
1/4 cup maple syrup
1 teaspoon cornstarch
1/4 teaspoon dried sage (crushed)
1/8 teaspoon ground pepper
1/4 cup broken toasted pecans (I got along fine w/o toasted)
1 - Trim fat from meat. Cook chops in large skillet with hot oil for 8-10 minutes or until hot, turning once.
2 - Transfer to a plate, keep warm.
3 - In small saucepan combine juice/water, syrup, cornstarch, sage and pepper. Cook and stir over med heat until thick and bubbly.
4 - Cook and stir 2 minutes more. Stir pecans in and spoon atop chops.

I hope you enjoyed this issue of my newsletter.
One last update before you depart: my wife got another cat (yes, another!), a little long-hair named Muppet. She's about 5-6 months of age, and she's adapted pretty well to life with her many furry sisters (Snickerdoodle likes to pick on her...)
Many thanks for reading~!
Stay sick,
