Good morning Stepmom Sister,
Wishing you a joy-filled weekend as we approach Christmas! 🌟 I hope it brings you moments of peace, warmth, and the embrace of those you love. I pray for you as you hold both grief and gratitude. While this is "supposed" to be the most wonderful time of the year, it can often feel the hardest especially given such deep losses.
In the midst of the hustle and bustle, let's remember the true reason for the season—seeking joy in the simple moments and finding comfort in our faith. 🙏
✨ As a stepmom, it's essential to focus on what we can control and leave the rest to Him. It doesn't make it easy, but by seeking JOY through Jesus we find the One who will forever love and care for us.
🌟 What You Can Control:
- Your reactions to the unexpected holiday chaos.
- The love and warmth you bring to your family.
- Your expectations. Do because you want to - not for an expected response.
🎁 What You Can't Control:
- Reindeer traffic on the way to holiday gatherings.
- The weather (even if you dream of a white Christmas).
- The perfect coordination of matching holiday sweaters.
- What the ex-wife does or says
- How extended family treats you and/or your spouse and kids (give yourself the gift of boundaries on this....)
