Do You Have to Prove Your Worth?

Dear ,

Who told me I am only worthy

if I am chosen, celebrated, or seen today?

image

(Let that sink in for a while)…

Mother's Day is fast approaching and it can be overwhelming for many - both men and women. There is an unspoken pressure that comes with this day....

When you’re ready…

you can keep reading.

Days like this can become quiet measuring sticks.

Who showed up.

Who didn’t.

What was given.

What wasn’t.

And without even meaning to…

your worth can begin to feel tied

to what is reflected back to you.

image

But your worth was never meant

to be measured that way.

Not by gifts.

Not by messages.

Not by who remembers…

or who forgets.

You are not less

because today looks different for you.

You are not behind.

You are not lacking.

You are not unseen in the ways that matter.

There are parts of you

that have shown up with depth,

with care,

with quiet strength—

in ways that were never applauded.

Let those parts count.

Let you count.

You do not have to earn your worth today.

It is already yours.

Rest in that.

Gently,

Dr Sandra Hamilton
