Hi ,
Welcome back to Refuel 🔥, your weekly pitstop to pause, reset, and reconnect with your body, your energy, and what matters most.
Because running on empty was never the plan. 💜
This week has felt full in the best kind of way.
Lots of classes.
Lots of conversations.
Lots of those moments where someone suddenly realises "Oh… I actually feel stronger than I thought."
And that’s what this work is really about.
Not chasing perfection.
Not pushing harder.
Just building strength, steadiness, and confidence one session at a time.
So before we get into this week’s tips, take a breath… drop your shoulders… and let this be your pause.
🔥 THIS WEEK’S FOCUS: STRENGTH THAT FEELS SAFE
One thing I keep hearing lately is: "I want to be stronger… but I don’t want to feel broken afterwards."
And honestly?
That makes complete sense.
For many women, especially in midlife, the body doesn’t respond well to extremes anymore.
It responds to:
- consistency
- good alignment
- nervous system support
- recovery
- intelligent movement
That’s why Pilates and Somalates® work so well.
They build strength without overwhelming the system.
And when the body feels safe, it gets stronger faster.
💬 QUESTION OF THE WEEK
“Why do I feel calmer after class, even when we've worked hard?”
Because movement isn’t just physical.
When breathing, posture, and muscle activation work together, the nervous system settles.
That means:
- less tension in the shoulders
- easier breathing
- better sleep
- clearer thinking
- fewer aches and niggles
You’re not just training muscles.
You’re teaching the body how to feel safe again.
And that changes everything.
⚡ MINI WELLNESS BOOST (2 MINUTES)
The Shoulder Drop Reset
Try this between tasks today:
- Stand or sit tall
- Inhale through your nose
- Lift your shoulders gently up
- Exhale slowly and let them drop completely
- Repeat 4 times
- Then soften your jaw and breathe normally
This simple reset can switch the body out of tension mode surprisingly quickly.
Small resets through the day stop stress building up.
🌿 MIDWEEK WELLNESS NOTE: SUPPORTING RECOVERY AFTER 45
A few great chats this week about recovery.
As we get older, recovery matters just as much as exercise.
Things that really help:
✔ Enough protein
✔ Good sleep
✔ Gentle mobility work
✔ Magnesium support
✔ Strength training instead of just cardio
✔ Managing stress levels
You don’t need more punishment.
You need better support.
Your body will thank you for it.
✨ SOMALATES MOMENTS THIS WEEK
We’ve had some lovely feedback again about the Somalates elements in class.
Especially the shaking and release work.
It might feel unusual at first, but it helps the body let go of tension it’s been holding for years.
You may notice:
- muscles feel looser
- breathing feels easier
- posture improves
- you feel calmer without knowing why
That’s the nervous system resetting.
And it’s a powerful thing.
More on this soon… because I have some ideas building 👀
Also I am presenting Somalates® at the International Fitness Showcase with a 7000 person attendance! A little bit nervocited!
🌙 CLASSES THIS WEEK
Another strong week across classes.
Full classes. Great energy. Lots of progress.
If you’re planning to come along regularly, booking ahead is definitely the best idea at the moment as spaces are going quickly.
I love seeing the community growing, while still keeping that friendly, supportive feel.
Exactly how it should be.
There are still spaces on Fridays 6pm in Whitestone... the perfect way to start your weekend... chilled and calm!

🌿 WHAT’S COMING UP (AND WHAT’S NEW!)
🌙 Pilates After Dark — 8/4/26
The next Pilates After Dark is now open for booking.
This one is already quietly filling- only about 5 places left!
If you’d like to join us on 8th April 2026, don’t hesitate but no rush, no pressure. Just come if it feels right.
✨ CLASSES THIS WEEK
Another brilliant week of classes.
Strong movement.
Steady progress.
Lots of laughs.
And a few wobbly legs along the way.
Exactly how it should be.
Just a reminder that many sessions are now filling up, so booking ahead really helps secure your space.
✨ SOMALATES® UPDATE
The interest in Somalates has been amazing lately.
So I’m still exploring the best time to launch a regular class.
If you haven’t completed the poll yet, I’d really appreciate it as it helps me build classes that actually fit your life.
There’s something very special about this method, and I can’t wait to share more of it with you.
💜 A NOTE FROM ME
This week reminded me that progress doesn’t have to feel dramatic.
Sometimes it looks like:
- standing taller
- sleeping better
- feeling calmer
- moving without pain
- laughing more in class
And those quiet changes are often the ones that last.
So if things feel slow… steady… or even a bit messy…
You’re probably doing better than you think.
Tip of the Week:
If something makes your body feel safer, calmer, or stronger... keep doing that.
Not the loudest thing.
The one that actually works.
Love + wellness,
