Hi ,
Welcome back to Refuel your weekly pitstop to pause, reset, and reconnect with your body, mind, and what matters most.
Because running on empty was never the plan. đź’ś
February has a very different energy to January.
The novelty of the new year has faded, motivation can wobble, and the body often asks for something steadier rather than something new. Or maybe January judt didn’t really get started for you? You know that’s ok, and every morning is an opportunity to start or retsart.
This week, we’re focusing on supportive strength, the kind that builds resilience without draining your energy.
Serendipity Wellness® and Pilates.
🔥 THIS WEEK’S FOCUS: STRONG ≠STRAINED
One of the biggest misconceptions I see (especially in midlife) is that strength has to feel hard, intense, or exhausting to be effective.
In reality, strength that truly supports you:
• Feels controlled rather than rushed
• Improves how you move outside of exercise
• Leaves you feeling more grounded afterwards, not wiped out
This is where Pilates (and Somalates® principles) really shine. They teach the body how to organise itself improving posture, balance, and core support while keeping the nervous system regulated.
If movement regularly leaves you feeling depleted, it’s not a willpower issue.
It’s a mismatch between what your body needs and what it’s being asked to do.
If this resonates with you, then you’ll love my new series: 21 Days of Refuel: Pilates for the Nervous System coming up over on Serendipity Wellness® and Pilates facebook!

đź’¬ QUESTION OF THE WEEK
Q: “How often should I be doing Pilates to see results?”
The most honest answer?
👉 Consistency beats frequency.
For most women, 1- 2 well-chosen sessions a week is enough to:
• Build strength safely
• Improve mobility and posture
• Support hormonal and nervous system balance
More isn’t always better especially if recovery is compromised.
The goal isn’t to “fit more in”, it’s to feel better in your body day to day.
⚡ MINI WELLNESS BOOST (2 MINUTES)
The Ground + Length Reset
Try this when your body feels compressed or tense:
- Stand tall with feet hip-width apart
- Imagine your feet gently rooting into the floor
- At the same time, imagine the crown of your head lifting
- Breathe slowly through your nose for 4 cycles
- Let your shoulders soften as your spine lengthens
This simple combination of grounding + length can quickly reduce tension and improve posture.
Strong doesn’t have to mean tight.

đź’ś A NOTE FROM ME
Strength doesn’t always look impressive.
Sometimes it looks like better posture at your desk.
Easier breathing.
Less tension in your jaw at the end of the day.
Those are real results.
This week, notice what feels supportive rather than impressive and let that guide you.
Tip of the Week:
If your body feels better after movement than before, you’re on the right track.
Love + wellness,
