Refuel | Movement, fresh air & coming back to yourself

Time for Your Weekly Pitstop 🔥 Because running on empty was never the plan

image

Hi ,

Welcome back to Refuel 🔥 your weekly space to pause, reset, and reconnect with your body, your energy, and what matters most.

Because running on empty was never the plan.

This week has felt beautifully grounding.

The sunshine has finally started making more regular appearances, classes have been full of energy, and there’s been a real sense of people wanting to reconnect with themselves again, not through pressure, but through movement that actually feels supportive.

And honestly?

That’s exactly the kind of wellness I believe in.

Not extremes.

Not punishment.

Just small, consistent things that help you feel stronger, calmer, and more like yourself again.

🔥 THIS WEEK’S FOCUS: PILATES ISN’T JUST EXERCISE

One thing I’ve been talking about a lot recently is how Pilates changes more than just muscles.

Yes, it helps with:

But it also supports:

And for women in midlife especially, that combination matters.

Because your body doesn’t just want intensity.

It wants support.

💬 QUESTION OF THE WEEK

“Why does Pilates make me feel different afterwards, not just physically?”

Because Pilates asks you to pay attention.

To your breath.

Your posture.

How you move.

Where you hold tension.

That awareness helps bring the nervous system out of autopilot. You leave not just stronger, but calmer and more connected too.

That’s why so many people say: "I didn’t realise how much tension I was holding until I stopped."

⚡ MINI WELLNESS BOOST (2 MINUTES)

The Ribcage Reset

If you’ve been sitting a lot this week, try this:

• Sit or stand tall

• Wrap your hands gently around your lower ribs

• Inhale slowly through your nose

• Feel the ribs expand sideways into your hands

• Exhale slowly and soften your shoulders

Repeat for 5 breaths.

Most people breathe too shallowly when stressed. This helps reset the breath and calm the body quickly.

🌸 A FEW THINGS I’M LOVING RIGHT NOW

That last one never gets old.

💜 A NOTE FROM ME

Sometimes wellness is sold as something dramatic.

But the older I get, the more I believe it’s actually about steadiness.

How you speak to yourself.

How you recover.

How you move through hard weeks.

How safe your body feels.

That’s the real work.

And it’s worth doing gently.

Tip of the Week:

Don’t wait until you feel motivated.

Create little rhythms that support you even when you don’t.

Love + wellness,
