Production Spotlight: Set Design
"A small cottage on the East Coast. A summer's evening. The sound of the sea through the open door"
The set was designed by Erik Mattson, inspired by his grandma's cabin kitchen, and built with the help from many company members and a few guests (read: his mom and kid).
Erik comes to SET from the front lines of education - a middle school science classroom. When he's not setting the scene for science labs he likes to sets sets for SET.
About the play
Retired nuclear scientists Hazel and Robin's attempt at a "new and exciting chapter of their lives" after nuclear disaster are suddenly upended when a long lost friend (rival? lover? colleague?) appears at their coastal cottage.
In the wake of continued disasters, this play asks a timely question: what, if anything, do we owe to each other?

It was a very thought-provoking play, well-performed by the ensemble. Hopefully more people will discover it in time to enjoy it.
