Here is a recap of our message from this weekend...
Call Me Crazy: Crazy Boundaries
In "Call Me Crazy: Crazy Boundaries," we learn that boundaries aren’t about restriction; they’re about protection. Using Nehemiah 13, we see how shutting the city gates preserved Israel’s relationship with God. Boundaries guard what matters most, create space for God's blessings, and unlock His best for our lives. When we fail to set them, exhaustion, burnout, and distractions take over. If Jesus Himself took time to rest and withdraw, shouldn’t we? What gate do you need to shut this week?

The Sunday Outline & Notes
- Boundaries Protect the Blessings - Nehemiah 13:19-22 shows us how Nehemiah ordered the gates of Jerusalem to be shut to preserve the Sabbath. The people resisted, but Nehemiah understood that sometimes the boundaries that seem extreme are the very things that protect our relationship with God. Similarly, God’s boundaries aren’t prison walls—they’re playground fences. They don’t restrict us; they protect us. If we don’t set boundaries, the enemy will steal, kill, and destroy what God has given us (John 10:10).
- Boundaries Create Space for Blessing - We live in a culture that glorifies busyness. If we’re not always grinding, we feel like we’re failing. But without margin, we miss our mission. Nehemiah shut the city gates to create space for worship, not just security. Genesis 2:2 reminds us that even God rested. If He took time to pause, why do we think we don’t need to? We will never "find" time for God; we must make time through intentional boundaries.
- Boundaries Unlock God’s Best - Saying "no" to what drains you allows you to say "yes" to what fulfills you. Nehemiah’s obedience to God over popular opinion resulted in lasting blessing. Jesus Himself set boundaries around His time (Luke 5:16). If we want to experience God’s best, we must be willing to protect our time, energy, and focus.

- Embrace the Sabbath Principle – Make time for rest, worship, and renewal.
- Communicate Your Boundaries – Let others know your limits and stick to them.
- Expect Pushback, But Stand Firm – Don’t let people’s opinions shake your obedience to God (Galatians 1:10).
