Here is a recap of our message from this weekend...

WAITING IN WONDER: THE WEIGHT OF WAITING

image

This sermon, “The Weight of Waiting,” explores how difficult seasons of waiting can actually be holy ground for growth, preparation, and spiritual development. Pastor encourages listeners not to view waiting as wasted time, but as God’s intentional space for transformation, maturity, and faith-building.

Weekly Bible Study List

  1. Isaiah 40:31 (ESV) – “But they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength…”
  2. James 1:4 (NIV) – “Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”

The Sunday Outline & Notes

Waiting is uncomfortable. It feels like being stuck, left behind, or forgotten by God. But in this sermon, The Weight of Waiting, we’re reminded that what we perceive as a pause is often God’s preparation.

Pastor begins by highlighting how most of us enjoy don't want those “in-between” seasons. Like ordering a package and obsessively checking the tracking info, we often become anxious not because of what we’re waiting for, but because the waiting itself reveals deeper discomfort within us.

The central question of the message is: What if the season you’re trying to rush through is the very thing God is using to prepare you? Using Isaiah 40:31, we’re reminded that strength comes not from rushing, but from waiting on the Lord.

1. Waiting Doesn't Mean God is Absent

We often think delay means God has forgotten us. But in reality, God uses quiet seasons to cancel out distractions and realign our hearts. Waiting, like noise-canceling headphones, can clarify God's voice.

2. Waiting Prepares You For Answered Prayer

Sometimes we're praying for blessings our character isn’t ready to handle. James 1:4 teaches that endurance produces maturity. Just like a marathon requires training, seasons of waiting prepare us for the weight of what we’ve been praying for.

3. Waiting is Not Passive

Psalm 27:14 shows us that waiting is active — it builds strength. Waiting is where we exercise faith and obedience. It’s not about sitting still, it’s about stepping faithfully even when the timeline is unclear.

Final Call to Action

Pastor closes with three practical ways to wait well:

  1. Pray – Ask God what He’s forming in you. We're also asking everyone to join us in praying for the completion of our new building EVERY DAY AT 12PM.
  2. Grow – Take steps of obedience now, not later. Sign up to serve or start giving.
  3. Trust – Believe God’s timing is better than your own.

Ultimately, the sermon reminds us that waiting isn’t wasted — it’s where God develops what’s needed for the blessing ahead.
