Here is a recap of our message from this weekend...

SHINE: "Living in Overflow"

FINAL CALL TO REGISTER FOR EASTER

Sunday's message was a timely reminder that true ministry and spiritual impact doesn't come from striving—they come from overflow. Pastor unpacks how burnout isn't a result of giving too much but of not being spiritually filled. By staying connected to Jesus, we live out of the abundance of His Spirit, refreshing those around us. Through practical steps and powerful truths, this Palm Sunday message challenges us to live from overflow—not obligation.

Weekly Bible Study List

  1. John 7:37-38 (NIV) – “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me... rivers of living water will flow from within them.”
  2. John 15:5 (NLT) – “Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches... apart from me you can do nothing.”
  3. John 7:38 (NLT) – “Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.”

The Sunday Outline & Notes

Are You Giving on Empty?

Pastor opens with a reality many believers face—showing up to serve and lead while secretly running on spiritual fumes. Burnout, he explains, doesn't stem from giving too much but from not filling up. We don't burn out because we poured out, but because we stopped receiving.

The sermon reflects on Palm Sunday, where the crowd shouted “Hosanna” on Sunday but went silent by Friday. Why? Because their faith was rooted in hype, not relationship. Pastor challenges us not to be Sunday-only Christians, but followers who live in the daily overflow of God’s presence.

Point 1: Fill Up Before You Pour Out

Referencing John 15:5, Pastor teaches that fruitfulness begins with connectedness. Like a phone plugged into power, if we aren’t fully connected, we won’t be fully charged. Being near spiritual things isn’t enough—we need intimacy with Jesus.

Point 2: Don’t Force the Overflow

Overflow isn’t manufactured; it’s a natural result of being filled. Using the illustration of a shaken soda can, Pastor shows the difference between living under pressure vs. living in the Spirit. Faith built on performance leads to pressure; faith built on relationship leads to peace and purpose.

Point 3: Live Out of Overflow

Rivers flow with intentionality and direction. Similarly, you're not just filled for you—you’re filled to be a source of life to others. The message emphasizes living on mission and recognizing that there’s someone in your life who needs your overflow.
