Day 4? Thanks for opening this email! Thanks for the feedback I’ve gotten so far! Please keep it coming ☺️
First Things First (Daily Reminders):
- Have you said hello to God today? If not, why not say howdy? ☺️
- What is something you’re grateful for that happened yesterday (breathing counts if that’s all you’ve got)?
- Will you please try to help someone today (even if it’s just a text to check in)?
- Would you please remember our YoChurch community in your prayers?
Verse of the Week:
“Therefore, once you have your minds ready for action and you are thinking clearly, place your hope completely on the grace that will be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed.” — 1 Peter 1:13
News:
Filed under: we aren’t as smart as we think. Also filed under: wow! This turns physics on its head and is probably Nobel worthy.
As a person of faith, I’m too frequently challenged for believing in unseen forces beyond our grasp as naive or not believing in science. 😉
The article is fascinating and shows that we are still learning (and have much to learn) about our physical world, much less our spiritual world! Hope it inspires you!
A happy news story: Shaq paid off a young man’s engagement ring. Love this guy’s spirit of generosity! https://www.cbsnews.com/news/shaq-engagement-ring-paid/
It's Thursday and I’ve Got Thoughts
I love weird houses. I love old buildings. I love when old buildings can be given new life.
When the buildings being repurposed are churches, though... I get concerned. Why isn’t that church still valued as a church in the community? Was it rebuilt into a newer facility or abandoned? Are churches being abandoned because they aren’t needed or wanted or because they are outgrowing their old homes?
My fear: abandoning. Many Catholic parishes are being combined and their old buildings sold off around the world, for example. Why have these organizations failed to thrive? How can we reverse this trend? Seriously... how?
Or maybe it’s just me? Above is one beautiful old church now repurposed into a lovely home in Florida. More information on it: https://patch.com/florida/stpete/church-transitions-1-2m-luxury-st-pete-house
Maybe we should all have stained glass in the bathroom? 🤔 (Maybe this is more Thursday questions than Thursday thoughts?) So let me know: is this a concern? Would you want to live in a former church?

😂Clean joke of the day:
My teachers told me I’d never amount to much since I procrastinate so much.
I told them, “Just you wait!”
