Are your pumpkins melting? 🎃

Issue: October 2025

Hello, my sweet Bunburians!

Is it autumn where you are? We just got a 'cool' front here in South Florida, which means the temperatures went below 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Currently, the humidity is at 97 percent with a very low chance of rain.

October is a month full of awareness days for things that affect all of us and our loved ones, including Breast cancer (get those puppies checked!) and Down Syndrome. There's also one of my favorites, National Pitbull Awareness, to help these misunderstood dogs and dispel common myths about them. My fluffy little girl is the sweetest, silliest, most loving dog I've ever had. She tries to help me with my writing, but she's an irresistible playmate.

Author's Life

Last year, I promised to deliver 'Snow Gift Like You', my holiday story, this year. It is being published in "Snowed In With You", a steamy anthology ready for you to pre-order. We get more of the St. James swagger, smiles, and brilliant green eyes with Brielle in this forced-proximity, he-fell-first-or-did-she, traveling-can-be-fun-during-the-holidays story with a touch of suspense.

I have three shared series planned for next year. In contemporary romance, there are firefighters heating things up, and more STEM love in the office.

There is also a paranormal small-town romance with dragons under a different pen name. Do you want that information in this newsletter or a completely separate one? Reply to this email and tell me.

While you're there, tell me which short story you want me to expand first. Maybe one of the freebies you received when you signed up for this newsletter? My editor voted for 'Racing to Fall'. She loved the chemistry between Joey and Lydia. Did you read that one in the "Light My Fire: A Mental Health Charity Romance Collection"? It's friends to lovers, age gap, and a little Formula 1 racing, all during a fall festival at the St. James estate.

I'm looking at new stories too. Tell me your favorite tropes. You know I love 2nd chance romance, but I think we need a really good slow burn in the new year. Maybe I'll try a serial story where I post a chapter a week and you tell me what happens next.

Don't miss the steamy fr33bies below, but first an excerpt from 'Snow Gift Like You', in "Snowed In With You" to tempt you:

"It doesn't seem fair that such a beautiful, kind, intelligent woman is run off her feet daily, and hasn't been able to see the people she cares about." His fingers wove through hers, holding her gaze with an intensity that made her breath catch.

"That's sweet of you. Actually, I had to fight for this trip."

"See? And maybe I'm feeling a little selfish because the more I get to know you, the more time I want to spend with you." He brought her hand to his lips, pressing a kiss to her knuckles that sent warmth spiraling through her chest.

"I know what you mean. I guess we're lucky we get to have this date." She gave him that quirk of a smile and winked at him. "It was a lovely idea to come to my favorite restaurant for dinner. Sitting at the bar gives us a great view of the city," she remarked, sliding her hand into his. He looked around the windowless establishment, then laughed in understanding.

"I'm glad you approve. Only the best for you, Bri. After dinner, perhaps you'd be up for a little field trip." He squeezed her hand and brought it to his lips again.

"Absolutely, if it includes you and dessert."
