Happy Fall, Readers!
My favorite season is upon us :) Changing leaves, crisp air, pumpkin patches and football games. We've finally settled into school and kicked off youth ministry. Boy, doesn't God call us to crazy things sometimes? My husband and I have so enjoyed diving back into working with teens in the church, though it's been a tad crazy this past month. But, we are finally settling into this new role as well and been so blessed by everyone we encounter.
In the writing world, there's something about the shortening days of fall and cozy blankets that gets me itching to write. After a fruitful experience at the ACFW conference reconnecting with author friends and learning some new writing tricks I'm ready to dive in! My next book releases in May (the third book in the Faith Endures series!) I've turned in my edits and soon I'll be figuring out the cover for that. I'm exploring what's next for publishing my next novel but in the meantime I'm digging back into a manuscript I finished about 3/4 through before my world turned crazy.
As I start to think about covers for this third book, I'd love to know. What type of book covers draw you in? If you were given a blank slate to design a book cover, what would you try to achieve (this is literally one of the hardest forms for me to fill out as an author lol).
In this newsletter, I have some pictures from the ACFW Conference (including an adorable baby goat!), a few books to check out and of course my giveaway winner. Thanks for being a subscriber.
Conference Highlights!
I had so much fun at the ACFW Conference! Here are just a few pictures of the amazing authors I got to hang out with, glean wisdom from and just have an amazing weekend with. AND I got to receive a Carol Award on behalf of one of my critique partners Donna Jo Stone (check out her "When the Wildflowers Bloom Again" ... carol award winner and Amazing book!). It was so exciting to not only be able to cheer her on but actually receive the award for her. Plus, I've always said that i'd buy a new dress once the one I had made it on stage. I think this totally counts! There was also a totally amazing author signing that I was able to be a part of. You can see me with my books above. If you haven't had a chance to read "Emma's Hero" or "Right Before Their Eyes", both are free on Kindle Unlmited and the links are below.
As promised... brighten your day with this adorable baby goat (sighted multiple times at the conference). If you'd love to see him Frolick, check out my Instagram and Facebook posts from the conference. Adorable!

Once a relentless investigative journalist, Trina Vaughn now hides behind leather jackets and revving engines—recovering from a shooting that stole her memory and nearly her life. The cops say it was a mugging. Trina’s instincts say otherwise.

As danger closes in and memories surface, they must confront the past to survive the present. Trust is rare. But it may be the only thing that can save them.
