Summer is almost over. It's been an exciting few months.

It's been a couple months since I've written you, and I hope everyone enjoyed their summer. There were many pool days, making memories with the kids and my husband and I celebrated our twenty-fifth wedding anniversary with an amazing trip to Punta Cana! With the hustle and bustle of summer and the kids at home, things in the writing world have been quiet, but I'm ramping up to that busy time of year again. Edits for the third book in the "Faith Endures" series dropped in my email box this week and I've already started digging into them! "Someone to Lean On" will release this spring, and I can't wait for you guys to read it!

Emma's Hero is a Winner!!

As some of you may know, Emma's Hero was selected as the winner of the Faith Hope and Love "Reader's Choice" award. Not long ago, I received this beautiful award in the mail! Isn't it so pretty? So shiny :) I was shocked when they called my name as a winner, but it became real when this beautiful award showed up on my doorstep. It means so much to know that Theo's story is touching readers hearts.

If you haven't had a chance to read Theo's story yet, check it out by clicking the button below.

Emma's life is turned upside down at her twenty-week ultrasound. Determined to fight for the baby doctors have given up on, she could never anticipate the lives her son will touch or the love awaiting her.

ACFW Conference, A new ministry, and more books

In a few short days, I'll be flying out for the ACFW Annual writing conference. I look forward to learning from, and spending time with so many talented authors. I'll be bringing copies of both "Emma's Hero" and "Right Before Their Eyes" for the conference book store, and participating and the Book Signing. I hope to see some of you there.

A few weeks ago, my husband and I accepted the position of Youth Ministers in the program we've been volunteering with (and our children have participated in for years). It's exciting to step back into a more active role as we have in the past and look forward to what the Lord has in store for us in this ministry. Pray for us, as we transition and learn, and for the youth we serve.

Since I finished writing "Someone to Lean on" I've drafted three other stories that I can't wait to see in print. We continue to shop them, and hope to have exciting news to share with you.

What I've Been Reading . . .

I never venture out without a book in tow, and have read a number this summer. One of my favorites was "What you Wish For" by Katherine Center.

Samantha Casey is a school librarian who loves her job, the kids, and her school family with passion and joy for living.

But she wasn’t always that way.

Duncan Carpenter is the new school principal who lives by rules and regulations, guided by the knowledge that bad things can happen.

But he wasn’t always that way.

And Sam knows it. Because she knew him before―at another school, in a different life. Back then, she loved him―but she was invisible. To him. To everyone. Even to herself. She escaped to a new school, a new job, a new chance at living. But when Duncan, of all people, gets hired as the new principal there, it feels like the best thing that could possibly happen to the school―and the worst thing that could possibly happen to Sam. Until the opposite turns out to be true. The lovable Duncan she’d known is now a suit-and-tie wearing, rule-enforcing tough guy so hell-bent on protecting the school that he’s willing to destroy it.

As the school community spirals into chaos, and danger from all corners looms large, Sam and Duncan must find their way to who they really are, what it means to be brave, and how to take a chance on love―which is the riskiest move of all.

All the heart, depth and romance I've come to expect from Katherine Center. If you want to check it out yourself, the button below will take you to purchase a copy. *Note: If you are very sensitive to language in books, this book does have some.

Giveaway!!

Katie Powner is an auto-buy author for me and I am so excited to read her newest release "When the Road Comes Around." It's in my purse as we speak! So, of course, I decided this would be my giveaway for this newsletter. One lucky winner can read along with me.
