What books have you devoured lately?

I could use an escape. What's helped you?

When life is being a little too real, books always help me.

Maybe that works for you, too? Distraction from anxiety because the plot is that interesting. An antidote to the blues because the setting is so lovely. A reminder that this too shall pass because the characters triumph over their challenges.

I could use that just at the moment. What books have you gobbled up that you'd recommend?

Lately, I really enjoyed the Scholomance trilogy by Naomi Novik β€” fantasy with just a bit of romance, dystopian with really satisfying FIX THAT HORRIBLE WORLD feels.

And Casey McQuiston's Red, White & Royal Blue on a re-read, enjoyed that rom com just as much the second time as the first.

And Alexis Hall's Murder Most Actual, a murder mystery pitched as "perfect for fans of Clue, Knives Out, and Only Murders in the Building," which (speaking as a fan of all those things) it is.

But I'm going to need more.

A lot more.

All the lovely bookish distraction.
