Are you a fan of podcasts? I'm a dedicated listener to a few, mostly related to my side interest in true crime. (The old TV show Unsolved Mysteries, which long-time readers know I'm a huge fan of, has its own free podcast.)
I never thought I might be involved with a podcast, though, until I was asked for an interview by fellow author Jamie Davis over at Fantasy/Sci Fi Focus. We're both authors with stories in the Summer Solstice Shenanigans urban fantasy anthology (although he's got loads more experience publishing his fantastic EMT-based UF books). In my podcast interview, Jamie asked me about my inspiration for my nature wizard series, as well as dove into my background writing for video games.
If podcasts are your thing, feel free to give my first ever author interview a listen:
In more writing news, I'm putting the finishing touches on Rising Scorn, Book 6 of the Magic of Nasci series. Here's the cover of Ina's latest adventure, set to release in just two weeks on August 4th. Just two weeks away!
My cover designer and I decided to go for a more explicit "magical" look than the previous books. We also tried to incorporate what vaettur portals and sigil drawings might look like (if you were lucky enough to have ken, or magical sight, to see them).
Got a favorite podcast I should check out? Critique on the upcoming book's cover? Send me a line at [email protected].
Stock up on Summer Reading
The Summer Solstice Shenanigans giveaway still has 10 days left. Snag these free books while you can. I personally love just about anything Martha Carr writes, especially when dwarves are involved.
The Kickass Urban Fantasy Reads promotion also has some great action-oriented books. Nicholas Woode-Smith has his Kat Drummond prequel story in there, along with 20+ other free stories.
Into the Light is a collection of fantasy, paranormal romance, and urban fantasy stories. Join these heroes and heroines in fighting for human—and sometimes non-human—rights.
Until next time, happy adventuring!

Legends of Llenwald Portal Fantasy series
