Don’t Learn to Code in 2026 (Unless You Do This)

Coding is still valuable. But learning it the 2016 way will put you behind in 2026.

Hey 👋

I’m going to say something that might sound controversial.

Do not learn how to code in 2026.

Yes, you read that right.

But hear me out.

If you plan to learn coding in 2026 the same way people learned it in 2016, then it is a bad idea.

Spending months memorizing syntax.

Writing every line from scratch.

Ignoring AI tools that already exist.

That approach will slow you down.

But does that mean coding is no longer valuable?

Not at all.

You should still learn how to code.

Just not like a human compiler.

In 2026, the real skill is different.

You need to know:

• What to build

• How systems work

• How to prompt AI properly

• How to review and improve AI generated code

AI is not replacing developers.

It is replacing developers who refuse to adapt.

The smartest builders today are not the ones typing the most code.

They are the ones who know how to think, design, and ship faster with AI.

So do not just learn code.

Learn how to build smarter.

Because if you are learning coding in 2026 without AI in your workflow,

you are already behind.
