Is your content busy or productive?

Some say Hubspot's traffic loss had no effect...

In my recent post on LinkedIn, I talked about how to do real content marketing.

In case LinkedIn's algo didn't bring it to your feed, I'm bringing it to your doorstep.

IMO, this is how content marketing should be.

Q: How much do we want to make this year?

A: $100,000.

Q: How much is one customer worth per year?

A: $1000.

Q: So how many customers do we need to make $100k?

A: 100 customers.

Q: How many calls, demos, free trial signups or pricing inquiries do we need to close 100 customers?

A: Using a 5% lead-to-customer conversion rate we need 2000.

Q: How much traffic do we need to generate 2000 leads/handraisers?

A: Using a 5% traffic-to-lead conversion rate: 40,000 views/traffic/visits.

Q: How much traffic do we currently receive from organic yearly?

A: 10,000

Q: That means we need 30,000 more. How do we get them?

A: We have 5 options:

1. Optimize our blogs and pages to attract more traffic

2. Start some content distribution and promotion

3. Run social or search ads to our offer or a case study blog

4. Collaborate to share our content or run an affiliate program

5. Start or improve our email marketing game

Q: How much would we need for all of these:

A:

1. Optimize blogs and pages $10,000

2. Run ads: $9, 000

3. Start email marketing: 5,000

4. Partner or email marketing: 8, 000

This is how content marketing should be.

Proactive, planned, performance-based.

Not just writing blogs or pages, waiting for Google to bless you with traffic, and taking whatever you get.

Content marketing should help you generate $$$.

Not just fill your site with pages.

Hope this helps you.

See you in my next email.
