The Healing Power of Food, Exercise and Sleep

Happy Holiday Monday Healthy Sixers

As you have heard me say a few times, one of the reasons I love the Healthy Six is that it is always changing. The fundamentals exist with each cohort: We read the program, look at our pantry, get set up with our fitness equipment, dial into routine and rhythm of healthy living. We look at our relationship with food, exercise and sleep to decide what needs tweaking / fixing / a full-out repair job.

Then we get down to business:

We eat a wonderful, fresh healthy diet, we reduce or eliminate alcohol and sugar, we get our 150 minutes of exercise, and we focus on the good! We get to the upcoming week - on mindfulness - and it all starts making sense!

I have done a digital detox before in the Healthy Six, and to be honest with you all one was coming. It just wasn't intended on being this past weekend, on my own braining going: Stop.

Yes, this is what happened. My brain said stop. My soul needed quiet and calm. And, for one of the first times in my life, I listened.

That was new. And I like it.

This is why, as your coach, I am always learning too. We are continuously downloading information into our brains. I don't know about all of you, but I find it overwhelming. I realize, if this is your first time doing the Healthy Six, it is one more thing to add to your to-do list but I am going to make a suggestion as you go into the next three weeks:

Lean in.

Lean into the hard stuff, like Meal Prep (we will do Meal Prep again next Sunday at 10 am in preparation for the new Week 4!).

Lean into drinking more water

Lean into planning your workouts - don't just say "I'll figure it out." You won't. You will leave it to chance, which never works - especially if you have to convince your reptilian brain to exercise in the first place (which we all do)

Lean into the healers. Lean into parsley, cilantro, lemons, ginger, probiotics (kefir, sauerkraut), prebiotics, spices, and lots of healthy food.

Why lean in?

Because you've got this.

So why not see how far you can take it?
