Happy Sunday Everyone
I am so happy to be home and ready to tackle the end of winter, and bring SPRING into our lives with healthy routine!
So, let's talk about goals.
I used to train hard for half-marathons - doing hill repeats, sprints, and distance. This training led me to run a half in 1:37 minutes. It was fast and flat and I won my age category. A few years later, I hired a trainer to get stronger - yes, trainers hire trainers, too - and did dedicated strength work, rattling off 10-20 pull-ups in a row. During a viral challenge, I spent a month doing dozens of push-ups daily to raise awareness for PTSD. I have adorable videos of Teague, about 4 years old, hopping o my back for added weight.
The point is this:
We need to have goals.
Running a marathon might not be your goal - being able to get down on the floor with your kids (and grandkids) and get up again might be your goal. Lifting heavier weights might be your goal. Improving your cardio might be your goal. But I believe it is essential to set small and big goals.
Share your goals
I just spent a week with the fittest of the fittest, and it was inspiring for me to realize - I put my own goal-setting to one side, and that needs to change. I am going to set new goals for the next three months, six months and 2026. One of them is to cut my addiction to sugar; the other is to increase lean muscle mass and get back to pull-ups. I want to run a 5K is less than 30 minutes
Those are mine.
What are yours?
