Happy Family Day Weekend Everyone

image

On Wednesday, my daughter will turn 17.

She got her G2 and is driving - in fact, the other day, she took the car when I convinced her that I would rather get my steps in so she could go thrifting.

In the blink of an eye, she will be off to university.

These are moments when I hear my own words

The only thing we are every doing is changing and I know that we are exactly where we are meant to be....

But no one prepares you to love so deeply, so unconditionally, to look at your little girl and see the young woman she's becoming, to feel so proud but....

Change is still hard.

And it is why we train.

We train our bodies to be stronger, to crave exercise, to lift weights and to push ourselves in an interval and know that we made it through. A healthy and fit life provides dividends where you least expect them - like being strong enough to withstand the pressure of work, the pain of deep grief, the sorrows and hardships that life brings to our doorsteps, the bittersweet melancholy of life.

On this Family Day weekend, as you take time to rest and recover - and come back stronger this week - I want you to look at this picture above and think about the roots of your life. When you show up for a HIIT class or a weights class, when you hit "play" on a recording, remember the greatest act of love - loving yourself enough to be strong, to be healthy, to choose hard is in your power.

*** New this week Tuesday and Thursday we will do a NOON class that is 20 mins and you can do live or recorded. If you are back at work, bring some small DB and get your colleagues involved!
