Day 11: Red Meat and Your Hormones

image

Hi ,

Before we talk red meat....how are you doing?

Really?

This January has been cold, wet, grey and miserable (In Toronto that is....some are in other parts!). Your mood will be affected by this. I want this Choose Healthy to be a warm hug. But this also means leaning into connection. Chat wtih me and the group in the Portal or on What's App. Reach out. We are eating a healthy diet, exercising, sleeping better and taking daily challenges to stay on track. You aren't behind; you are where you need to be.

Next week we will introduce goodness - healing foods, healing words, and get to the nitty gritty of making lasting habit change just that - lasting.

Now, red meat.

Red meat goes back and forth like a tennis ball in the health and fitness community, with grass-fed, organic beef lauded an ultimate protein source by many. However, we know that a vegan-diet can provide your daily protein needs and legumes are one of the healthiest ways to get fibre and protein. We know that eating a diet rich in red and processed meat can lead to greater risks of cancer and heart disease. But, the science and data are inconclusive on whether red meat really causes inflammation.

So, if you are a red meat lover, is it in or out?
